So many books so little time

Anna and the French Kiss

Anna and the French Kiss by Perkins, Stephanie (2011) -

"I wish friends held hands more often, like the children I see on the streets sometimes. I'm not sure why we have to grow up and get embarrassed about it."

Let's talk about how freaking CUTE this book was!

It was marshmallows meet guinea pigs meet fireworks meet chocolate meet... oh you get the point.

It was summer in a book. It was Paris in a book. It was friendship in a book. If that's not going to make you read this, I don't know what is.

"Is it possible for home to be a person and not a place?"

We Were Liars

We Were Liars - E. Lockhart

"He was contemplation and enthusiasm. Ambition and strong coffee. I could have looked at him forever."

The writing was stunning. Loved it.

All The Light We Cannot See

All the Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr

"Open your eyes, concludes the man, and see what you can with them before they close forever."

This book was glorious. It sucked me in and spit me out in the most beautiful way possible. In the way great books often do. Everything was so detailed, so precisely made and constructed.

It took me some time to get used to the tempo of the book, it is definitely not fast paced but it really slowly lulls you into its world and then makes you wonder over so many things.

City of Heavenly Fire

City of Heavenly Fire - Cassandra Clare

"We are all the pieces of what we remember. We hold in ourselves the hopes and fears of those who love us. As long as there is love and memory, there is no true loss."

Now who's excited for The Dark Artifices?

I know I am!

Geez, this book. It was so intense!!

Cassandra Clare, you genious. Everything happened how it should've happened.

I was quite emotional everytime brother Zachariah aka Jem appeared and then when Tessa and Clary met, it was too much for my achy breaky heart.

I'm still trying to comprehend how to put all the FEELS I have for this ending into words!

Dreams of Gods and Monsters

Dreams of Gods & Monsters - Laini Taylor

"There was only the present, and it was infinite. The past and the future were just blinders we wore so that infinity wouldn't drive us mad."

I cannot wordly express how much I loooved this book so I'm not even going to try.

Read. It.

"It was a new idea for him, that happiness wasn't a mystical place to be reached or won-some bright terrain beyond the boundary of misery, a paradise waiting for them to find it-but something to carry doggedly with you through everything, as humble and ordinary as our gear and supplies. Food, weapons, happiness."

Days of Blood and Starlight

Days of Blood & Starlight - Laini Taylor
"It doesn't matter what happens to me, she told herself. I am one of billions. I am stardust gathered fleetingly into form. I will be ungathered. The stardust will go on to be other things someday and I will be free."

Simply magical, beautiful, heart wrenching and extraordinary.

Daughter of Smoke and Bone

Daughter of Smoke & Bone - Laini Taylor

"He can't see it. It is a condition of monsters that they do not perceive themselves as such. The dragon, you know, hunkered in the village devouring maidens, heard the townsfolk cry "Monster!" and looked behind him.

Have you ever asked yourself, do monsters make war, or does war make monsters?"

Oh the feels!!

This.Book. !!!!

I love it I love it I love it

The writing is so magnificent, so touching, so beautiful, the world building, the characters, everything was flawless. This book = flawless.

Thoughts on Fangirl

Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell

I liked this book. I liked the writing, I appreciated some parts while I was not so interested in others, the main problem was that this book didn't engrosse me, therefore I wasn't eager to finish it.

I gave it 3.5 stars
I've quite enjoyed this book. It was fun to read, quirky writing, overall an interesting story.
But somehow it didn't get to me as I thought it would, some things just unnerved me like referencing Harry Potter, that one sentence just didn't belong there and it was so frustrating. Why do that!? And then I thought Simon Snow parts could've been a bit shorter or more connected to the story, they were somehow just left hanging there, not doing anything particularly interesting.
But not being a huge contemporary fan I would say I was surprised that I liked this book at all. So, that's a positive thing, right?
I could identify with some things with Cath but there was something about her that I just didn't connect with as much as I would've wanted to. The romance part didn't quite excite me, it was just ok. I was missing something however.

Nevertheless, a lot of people liked this book and I can see why, although I, personally wasn't mindblowned by it.

Clockwork Princess, The Infernal Devices Trilogy

Clockwork Princess - Cassandra Clare

Oh.Yes. This book was phenomenal. It was mindblowing and beautiful and wonderful and heartbreaking and all the feels dmnvdjfdidgiodhsohur...

*cooling down*

I LOVED it. Not only was it an amazing sequence and ending to the story but I feel like Cassandra Clare gave her heart and soul to this series. I kinda loved it more than I loved The Mortal Instruments. Also, having read TMI, I enjoyed these series even more because a lot of characters I already knew  but now  got to see  in a different light. I even think Will was mentioned in TMI, am I right, am I right ?

Anyway, Cassandra kept surprising me not only with the plot but with the progress of characters. They were so lovely and relatable( at least I thought so), the plot was brilliant but what made me love this even more( if that's possible) were the references. Oh, the references. For someone who loves Jane Eyre and Charles Dickens, everytime Cassandra mentioned one of these, I felt like we just shared an internal joke and it made me love this book so much more. There are so many quotable things in this book, the conversations between characters were hilarious and I just enjoyed this story SO.MUCH. Tessa, Will, Jem, Charlotte, Henry... I love them all!

I didn't expect to love it this much but it made a huge impact and I know for sure that this is going to be a re-read!

Definitely recommending! :D
